Panthers stay perfect

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County remained unbeaten with a 63-41 win against Greenwood on Wednesday.

Carter Kent led the Panthers (8-0) with 13 points. Keegan Manowitz added 11 points and six rebounds, Lane Zohrlaut had 10 points and six rebounds and Owen Law scored eight points.

Lancers split games

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh won its first game over Knightstown 41-38, but then fell to Austin 59-35 in the Edinburgh Tournament.

In the game against the Knightstown, Gracie Crawhorn finished with 12 points, Kenna Streeval 11 and Bella Turner 10. Against Austin, Streeval finished with 12, and Crawhorn added 11 for the Lancers (6-9).

Cougars down Hornets

GREENSBURG — South Decatur trailed 30-26 after three quarters before rallying for a 39-36 win against Henryville.

Kiley Best led the Cougars (5-9) with 15 points. Makayla Somers added nine.

WRESTLING

Panthers go 1-4

RENSSELAER — Jennings County went 1-4 on the first day of the Joe Burvan Duals at Rensselaer. The Panthers fell to Decatur Central 47-30, North Montgomery 45-33, Hamilton Heights 57-16 and Cascade 74-7 and beat South Dearborn 60-15.

Teagan Trotter went 5-0 at 170 pounds for Jennings. Lane Kirchner (132) and Evan Sochacki (138) each went 4-1, and James Hatton (120) and RJ Barberis (152) each went 3-2.
