COLUMBUS
Charles Nicholas “Nick” Roberts Jr. 86, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at his home. Nick was born on April 15, 1936 in Brown County, IN to Charles Roberts Sr. and Mary Shelby Roberts. He married Clorstine “Carol” Brown on March 12, 1966.
Nick was a skilled Journeyman and Gear Lab Technician, and retired from Reeves/Reliance Electric after 40 years of service. He was a sports enthusiast, and never missed a game his children and grandchildren were participating in. Nick was well known for entertaining all of the kids with his magic tricks. He delighted in seeing their reactions. Most of all, he loved spending time with this family. They were the most important thing in his life.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Calling will be from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Entombment will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Survivors include his companion, Joann Moon of Taylorsville, IN; children, Rick (Linda) Roberts of Columbus, IN, Vicki Jo Lozier of Columbus, IN, Paula (Steve) Walker of Louisville, KY, Timmy Roberts of Columbus, IN, Connie (Jim) Wilson of Shelbyville, KY and Shawn Roberts of Columbus, IN; brothers, Steven Roberts of Columbus, IN and Michael (Ora) Roberts of Nashville, IN; sisters, Judy (John) Warner of Columbus, IN and Susan Roberts of Rhode Island; Nick is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; wife, Clorstine Roberts on April 22, 2011; daughters, Vivian Rice, Tammy McKay; a brother, Tom Roberts; sisters, Janice Snider and Carol Watkins.
