Bull Dogs top Knights

The Columbus North boys basketball team was victorious over Norwell 55-42 in the opening round of the Noblesville Tournament. Luke Harmon finished with 17 points, Cooper Horn had 14 and Ty Ferguson added 10 for the Bull Dogs (7-3). North will take on Lawrence Central in the semifinal round at 11 a.m. today.

Edinburgh Tournament results

Edinburgh won its opening game over Hagerstown 62-36. Jarrett Turner finished with 18 points, Celeb Dewey had 14 and Keegan Smith added 11 for the Lancers. In the semifinal game against Austin, they won 63-36. Dewey scored 24 points to become the school’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kyle Wuest’s total of 1,411 set in 2012. The Class A No. 9 Lancers (7-2) will face Indianapolis Lutheran in tonight’s championship game.

South Decatur won its opening game with Victory College Prep 67-33. Jacob Scruggs finished with 19 points. The Cougars fell to Indianapolis Lutheran in the semifinal round 60-34. Scruggs finished with 14 points. South Decatur (5-3) will play in the third place game today.

Hauser lost its opening round game to Austin 63-59 and fell to Hagerstown 49-36.

Crusaders split games

Columbus Christian won its first game against Holy Cross (Ky.) in its first game in pool play in its tournament 63-37. Peyton Walden scored a game-high 23 points. In the second game of pool play, they fell to Mooresville Christian 70-59. Noah Edwards scored 21 points and Walden added 19 for the Crusaders.
