NORTH VERNON
Larry Wayne Lucas, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:02 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
Born April 10, 1951, in Brown County, he was the son of the late Malcom and Maude (Bradley) Lucas. He married Belinda (Hines) Graham; she survives.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Columbus High School. He worked for George’s Tire in Seymour for 26 years before retiring in 2013, he had previously worked for Frank Anderson Tires for two years, Saps Bakery in Columbus for eight years and the former Dexter’s Tire in Columbus for two years. Larry enjoyed watching westerns and working on vehicles.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Graham of North Vernon; sons, James (Jana) Brooks and Scott (Beth Gaines) Brooks, both of North Vernon, and Chad Lucas of Louisville, Kentucky; daughters, Rhonda (Ronnie) Campbell and Julie (Joe) Bishop, both of North Vernon; brother, Donald (Ruth) Lucas of Columbus; sisters, Brenda Mace, Sue (Jesse) Gentry, Diane (Joe) East, Linda (Robert) Jessie and Sharon (Dale) Graham, all of Columbus; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Barbara Richards.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials in honor of Larry may be made through the funeral home to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
