Police find missing 11-year-old, identified as having mild autism, who disappeared from Jones Street

Columbus police have confirmed they have located Ryder Newman and he is safe. Police have asked for a medic to check him. He was located by officers near Water Street in Columbus at about 4:25 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police are looking for an 11-year-old mildly autistic child who is missing from the 100 block of Jones Street.

In an emergency alert sent out from police, the child is identified as Ryder Newman, 11, who is a white male wearing a camo hoodie, a blue Under-Armor type undershirt with black pants that have blue stripes down the side and red shoes. He is described as having brown hair, blue eyes and is about 4 foot 7 inches tall and weighs 65 to 70 pounds. He left the Jones Street address in a red pedal car at about 1:30 p.m. If located, call 911 immediately to report his location to police.
