Panthers’ Woodard named Junior All-Star

Jennings County junior Juliann Woodard has been named a Core Six member of this year’s Indiana Junior All-Star team.

The 6-foot Woodard led the Panthers with 22.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.4 steals and 2.4 blocks this season. Jennings went 16-6 and fell to eventual Class 4A state champion Bedford North Lawrence in the first round of the sectional.

Also on the Core Six for the Junior All-Stars are Ali Harness of Carroll (Flora), Jordyn Poole of Fort Wayne Snider, Chloe Spreen of BNL, Reagan Wilson of Noblesville and Faith Wiseman of Indian Creek.

The Girls Red Group consists of Indian Creek’s Lauren Foster, Fishers’ Talia Harris, Mooresville’s Rachel Harshman, Westfield’s Ellie Kelleher, Evansville Memorial’s Avery Kelley and Mt. Vernon’s Ellery Minch. The Girls Blue Group features Lake Central’s Aniyah Bishop, Fort Wayne Snider’s Joh’nea Donahue, Norwell’s Kennedy Fuelling, Goshen’s Kyra Hill, Hamilton Heights’ Camryn Runner and West Lafayette’s Adrianne Tolen.

The Indiana Juniors will play the Kentucky Juniors at 2 p.m. June 4 at Jeffersonville and will face the Indiana Senior All-Stars at 6 p.m. June 7 at a site to be announced at a later date. The Core Six will be joined by one of the other groups of six in each of those games.

The Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Games for girls and boys seniors will be June 9 at Owensboro, Kentucky, and June 10 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
