COLUMBUS
Hazel M. Bragg, 82, of Columbus, died at 2:56 p.m. on March 11, 2023, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Hazel was born June 22, 1940, in Mercer County, Kentucky, the daughter of Geobel Gaffney and Carrie Lou Alcorn. She married Robert Edward Bragg on March 3, 1956.
In her earlier days, Hazel worked for Atterbury Job Corp as a cook and enjoyed making delicious meals for her family. She enjoyed sewing and would often times make shirts for Robert to wear to work and clothes for her children. Hazel was absolutely obsessed with Elvis and his music, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17th, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
Memorials may be made to Turning Point or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
Survivors include sons, Farris (Ava) Bragg of Columbus, George (Charlene) Bragg of Columbus, and Robert Wayne Bragg of South Bend; daughters, April Bragg and Sharon Smith both of Columbus; brothers, Timothy Ross of Texas and Joseph Ross of Batesville; sisters, Star Watson of Batesville, Maxine Ross of Columbus, and Hope Ross of Batesville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and furry friend, Nora the Cat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Geobel and Carrie; brother, Geobel Wayne Gaffney; and sister, Grylee Jane Gaffney Gambrel.
