North grad clears Marine boot camp

Private First Class Sean J. Kissinger, 18, of Columbus, a 2023 graduate of Columbus North High School, graduated from US Marine Corps Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on April 7.

Kissinger successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive training as one of approximately 400 recruits in 1st Battalion Alpha Company, as a member of Platoon 1006. From there he attended and graduated from Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California. He is now at Naval Air Station Pensacola, working on his specialty school focusing on F18s. Upon completion of his schooling, Kissinger will join the fleet at an undisclosed location.

Kissinger is the son of Karl and Betsy Kissinger of Columbus, the grandson of Pat and Lorna Billey of Columbus and Mike and Vada Kissinger of Evansville, and the brother of Alyssa, Maddie (and uncle to Jonah) and Ethan Kissinger (also a Marine), of Columbus.
