Driver dies in in one-vehicle accident in Jennings County

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County Sheriff deputies have identified a Norman man who died in a traffic accident Sunday.

Jennings County 911 Dispatch Center received numerous 911 calls regarding a personal injury crash in Campbell Township. Jennings County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies were directed by witnesses to an unresponsive male who had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Immediate medical care was administered however the driver was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The deceased male was identified as Terry Trowbridge, 50, of Norman. According to witnesses, Trowbridge was driving westbound on U.S. 50 and was attempting to pass another motorist at a high rate of speed. Deputies said he lost control and left the north side of the highway where his vehicle rolled several times, ejecting Trowbridge from the vehicle. Trowbridge was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed and aggressive driving are suspected to be factors.

Trowbridge’s family has been notified.
