Devin Mann is on the move.

The 2015 Columbus North graduate, who has spent his entire professional career in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, has been traded to the Kansas City Royals organization. He has been assigned to the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers.

The Royals acquired Mann, an infielder, and shortstop Derlin Figueroa from the Dodgers in exchange for pitcher Ryan Yarbrough.

In his second year with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers, Mann batted .307 with 14 home runs and 71 RBIs. He also had 33 doubles and 68 runs scored.

Drafted out of Louisville in 2018, Mann spent the rest of the 2018 season with the Rookie League Great Lakes Loons. He played for the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes for most of the 2019 season.

The first few months of the 2020 season was shut down because of the COVID pandemic. When it got the green light to begin, Mann was invited to spring training with the Dodgers and then was assigned to their Alternate Training Site when the major league games began.

After spending most of the 2021 season with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, Mann has been with Triple-A Oklahoma City the past two seasons.

Mann is going from one of baseball’s best franchises to one of the worst. The Dodgers’ major league team leads the National League West with a 59-45 record. The Royals have the second-worst record in baseball at 32-75.
