Columbus resident Marjorie Porter was recently honored on her 100th birthday with a party with more than family and friends and the reading of a proclamation by Mayor Jim Lienhoop.

More than 80 people attended a celebration in August at her residence at The Belmont, showering her with gifts, and enjoying her favorite, strawberry ice cream.

“It was an honor to have the mayor speak of my journeys in life,” Porter said.
