Trojans edge Olympians

ST. LEON — East Central pulled out a win in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles Wednesday to claim a 3-2 boys tennis victory against Columbus East.

Erik Takahashi beat Joel Richter 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, and Tyler Ernst topped Nate Plogsted 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (4-5).

East’s Brady Redelman fell to Brenden Griffin 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Jacob Dettmer and Ethan Bumbalough lost to Ian Maxwell and Noah Marsmann 6-1, 6-7 (4), 7-5 (5) at No. 1 doubles, and Iynigo Tan and Trevor Ernst fell to Cole Smith and Noah Kraus 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
