Helen JoAnn Bradshaw

Helen JoAnn Bradshaw, 84, of Westport, passed away at 11:11 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Helen was born May 24, 1939, in Corydon. She was the daughter of the late Hurley and Sylvia (Smith) Curts. She married Norman L. Bradshaw on June 21, 1957, in Corydon; he preceded her in death on January 21, 2022.

Helen worked as a cook and bus driver for Decatur County School. She was a former member of the North Vernon Church of the Nazarene and a current member of Westport Wesleyan Church in Westport. Helen enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, and making quilts.

Survivors include her children, Carol (Bill) Evilsizer of Holton, Jeff Bradshaw of Fresno, California, and Wesley (Darlene) Bradshaw of North Vernon; grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Bradshaw and Leslie Bradshaw (Joe Dixon), both of North Vernon, Matt Bradshaw of Fresno, California, Jason (Becca) Corya of Noblesville, Jennifer Corya of Vevay, and Jessica (Brian) Ripberger of Rushville; and great-grandchildren, Gary and Catherine Bradshaw, both of North Vernon, Luke and Jenna Corya, both of Noblesville, and Joel and Tucker Ripberger, both of Rushville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sisters, Daisy Lutz and Pauline Spurlock.

A funeral service for Helen will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. A burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
