The inaugural Katie McBurnett 5K Walk in Madison raised $3,200 to purchase Cough Buddy stuffed animals to be given to young patients recovering from heart surgery at Riley Hospital for Children where McBurnett had been a patient.

A proposed ordinance rezoning a 117-acre tract on State Road 46 east of Petersville from suburban residential and flood plain to industrial reserve was approved unanimously by Bartholomew County Commissioners, clearing the way for development of the site for a proposed sanitary landfill.
