No. 2 North to face East-Edinburgh winner in tennis sectional

Second-ranked Columbus North will await the winner of the Columbus East-Edinburgh match in this week’s boys tennis North Sectional.

East and Edinburgh will play in the opening round at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will play the host Bull Dogs in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Hauser will face sectional newcomer Greensburg in the other semifinal at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The final will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Meanwhile, Jennings County will play Seymour in the semifinals of the Seymour Sectional. Trinity Lutheran will play Bedford North Lawrence in the opening round, with the winner meeting Brownstown Central in the semifinals.

North will host a regional Oct. 3-4 that includes the sectional winners from North, Seymour, Scottsburg and East Central. The winner of that regional advances to the Oct. 7 Center Grove Semistate.

Brown County, which has been in the Columbus North Sectional for many years, has moved to the Bloomington South Sectional. The Eagles will face Bloomington North in the semifinals.

The winner of the Bloomington South Sectional feeds into the Plainfield Regional. That regional champ advances to the Jasper Semistate.

The state quarterfinals will be at noon Oct. 13 at Carmel and Center Grove. The state semifinals and final are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 14 at North Central.
