Lu Anne James

Lu Anne James, 69, of Columbus, Indiana and Largo, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Columbus Regional Health.

Born on October 1, 1954 in Shelbyville, IN, she was the daughter of Lawrence James Miller and Mary Grace (Kissling) Miller. She married (Morris) Ed James on September 15, 2012. He proceeded her in death.

Lu Anne spent over 20 years working at Clouse’s IGA in Hope, Indiana. She spent the rest of her working life in retail lastly working for Nabisco.

Lu Anne enjoyed playing pranks on friends, listening to music, boating, watching baseball, laughing and being around people. She will be remembered for her quick wit.

Survivors include sisters, Brenda Lucas and Lynne (Jim) Cook; sister-in-law’s Patty Brandenburg and Shirley James; brother-in-law Leland James; step-children, Shane (Steve) Combest, Shad (Julie) James and Jesse James; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many other family members.

Lu Anne was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister, Karen Yarnell; brother-in-law’s, Larry Lucas, Gene James and Denny Brandenburg; and sister-in-law Nancy James.

A celebration of life is being planned at a later date. Lu Anne’s cremains will be placed in the Hope Moravian Columbarium.

Lu Anne gave the gift of life by donating her organs. Memorial contributions may be sent to Indiana Donor Network though the website: https://indianadonornetwork.org/ or to the Donor’s choice.
