Born Mary Alice Crandall in Foley, AL, Mary spent most of her life in Indiana. She married Richard Shively in 1950, and started building a family. After living all over Indiana, including longer stay in Kokomo, Indianapolis, and Lake Lemon they finally settled in Brown County after purchasing the Old Golf Club of Brown County. They retired in 2001 and spent the rest of their lives enjoying their family, friends, the peace and beauty of nature of the hills around their property.
Mary loved her family and was adored by us all. She nurtured us, and helped us grow up to be successful and productive adults. She held many different jobs in her life, but always focused on her husband and family. She was kind, fun, and loving to all the people she met. Godspeed Mom: you will be missed, but never forgotten!
