Panthers edge Red Devils in 2 OTs

JEFFERSONVILLE — Jennings County took advantage of a missed extra point by Jeffersonville in the second overtime to close the regular season with a 28-27 Hoosier Hills Conference win.

Tied 14-14 at the end of regulation, the Panthers scored on a 10-yard run by Branden Braun and an extra point by Sam Burkman, but the Red Devils answered. Jeffersonville the got the ball first to start the second overtime and scored, but missed the extra point.

Jennings’ Sam Fodrill then ran 10 yards for a touchdown, and Burkman converted the extra point to give the Panthers (4-5, 1-5) the victory.

Braun carried 25 times for 87 yards and a touchdown and caught six passes for 107 yards and a score. Nathan Harrison completed 13 of 24 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns and ran nine times for 49 yards and a score. Burkman also caught a touchdown pass.

JoJo Hifo recorded four solo and 12 assisted tackles, and Blaine Ison had seven solo and five assisted tackles to lead the Panther defense.
