Cummins Community-Wide Recycling Day set for Thursday

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Community-wide Recycling Day, hosted by Cummins, Inc., will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Cummins CEP entrance at 500 Central Avenue in Columbus.

This free event is open to all households in Columbus.

Materials accepted include plastic bottles and containers (1 &2), glass bottles, cardboard and paper, used batteries, metal cans (aluminum/steel), household paint, gently used clothing and shoes, paper and books, electronic waste, used motor oil (5 gallon containers), antifreeze, fluorescent lights, televisions and appliances, computers and components, electronics and accessories.

The event is not accepting plastic bags and plastics (3-7) Styrofoam, tires, mercury thermometers, chemicals and pesticides, propane cylinders and bricks, pavers or concrete blocks.

Most materials collected will be donated to local Cummins’ partners.
