After finishing runner-up at the Boys Tennis State Finals on Saturday, it’s no surprise that second-ranked Columbus North players dominate the All-District 8 list.
Hank Lin, Parth Shah and Austin Clark were selected for singles, and the teams of Anvay Atram and Amrit Kar, along with Michael Crossman and Yoki Murabayashi, were selected for doubles. Jennings County’s Parker Bales was selected for singles.
Clark and Kar also made the Academic All-State squad.
The All-State team will be announced at a later date.
Olympians selected Academic All-State
Columbus East’s Erin Walters, Nadia Harris and Ruth Federle have been named to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Academic All-State team.
East’s Kira VanValkenburg and Taylor Scott are honorable mention selections.
Locals make All-HHC boys soccer team
Columbus East’s Gui Silva Coelho, Martin Simon Rodriguez and Justin Sylva and Jennings County’s Christian Hernandez have been named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference boys soccer team.
East’s Boston Ely, Eduardo Aranda-Michel and Emilio Quintero Aguirre and and Jennings’ Keiton Miller are honorable mention selections.
Jets named to All-MHC soccer team
Hauser’s Luke Bruner, Camden Grimes, Ethan House, Lakota Robbins and Zach Weichman are All-Mid-Hoosier Conference boys soccer selections. Tucker Artis was named honorable mention.
Hauser coach Barry Grimes was named MHC Coach of the Year.
Hauser volleyball players make all-sectional
Hauser’s Kenze Bostic and Aniston Bostic were named to the Southwestern (Hanover) All-Sectional volleyball team.
The Jets fell to eventual champion North Decatur in five sets in the opening round.
