Letter: US tax dollars funding attacks on Gaza civilians

If you are reading this your tax dollars are funding genocide in Palestine. Civilians in Gaza and the West Bank are being targeted with US produced weapons by a US funded foreign military. This is not a “religious conflict.” This is a calculated plan to wipe out an illegally occupied population and not a strategic response to a “terrorist attack.”

The Gaza Strip has a population of 2.3 million and 47% of those millions are children. In just a six-day period the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has dropped more than 6,000 bombs on one of the most densely populated areas in the world. That is nearly equivalent to the number of bombs the US dropped in Afghanistan in a single year.

If that doesn’t sit well with you, contact your representatives to demand our country cease all military aid to Israel and donate to Palestinian humanitarian organizations if you can. Those who are justifying Israel’s response are against international humanitarian law, support a state that commits war crimes, and do not recognize the right of those living under occupation to resist their oppressors.

The IDF and illegal Israeli settlers have killed at least 2,352 Palestinians including the murder of at least 724 children and have been observed directly targeting civilians.

This cannot stand and Israel must be held accountable on the international stage.

End the occupation. Dismantle apartheid. Boycott, divest, and sanction Israel.
