IUC women take 9th, men 12th in RSC meet

MIDWAY, Ky. — The IU Columbus women’s cross-country team finished ninth, and the men took 12th in their first River States Conference championship meet.

Brett Kleber earned second-team All-Conference honors with an eighth-place finish in 24 minutes, 28 seconds for 6K (3.72 miles), a personal-best by about a minute. She missed first-team All-Conference honors by just three seconds.

Also for the Crimson Pride, Abby Voss finished 41st in 27:19. Jackie Mouser took 79th in 31:51., while Delanie Bronner and Morgan Steineker were 92nd and 93rd in 36:56 and 38:56.

Conner Beatty, who has been battling an injury, led the IUC men with a personal-best 37:35. Columbus East graduate Jose Martinez ran 37:35, while Blake Nigg finished in 38:06, East graduate Alex McComb ran 42:33 and Quincy Collins finished in 44:30. All were personal-bests.

“It was a great day for our teams, and I was beyond proud of their efforts today,” IUC coach Tim Hoeflinger said.
