Ryan Burke, who has coached the Columbus East boys cross-country team the past 12 years, has announced his resignation.

A former Columbus North runner, Burke also has been the Olympians’ distance coach for the boys track team the past 11 years.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Burke for his invaluable contributions to the success and growth of our student-athletes,” East athletics director David Miller said in a news release. “Columbus East High School wishes Coach Burke all the best in his future endeavors.”

Burke is the third East coach to resign since the end of the fall sports season. Ellyn McIntosh stepped down as volleyball coach, and Matt Malinsky resigned as boys and girls tennis coach.
