North girls tie Seymour; boys take close loss

SEYMOUR — Columbus North’s girls swimmers pulled out wins in the final two events Thursday to finish in a 93-93 tie at Seymour, while the Seymour boys held on for a 93-90 win against the Bull Frogs.

Winners for the North girls were Katie Frazier in the 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes, 10.61 seconds), Mridula Muthakumaran in the 200 individual medley (2:22.99), Ella Gray Partin in the diving competition (172.35), Cora Tregoning in the 500 freestyle (6:01.65) and Ainsley Sherlock in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.82). The Bull Frogs also swept the 200 medley (2:00.60), 200 freestyle (1:49.92) and 400 freestyle (4:02.55) relays.

The North boys were led by wins from Jude Abdallah in the 50 freestyle (23.09), Dagan Kleffman in diving (142.60), Diego Cotero Tapia in the 100 butterfly (53.41) and Isaac Proffitt in the 100 backstroke (1:02.94). North also swept the 200 medley (1:46.17), 200 freestyle (1:35.07) and 400 freestyle (3:34.28) relays.
