College sports notebook: Barker’s career night leads Army past Le Moyne

Blake Barker scored a career-high 20 points Tuesday to lead Army to a 68-51 win against Le Moyne.

Barker, a junior from Columbus North, went 7 of 11 from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line. He also had five rebounds and an assist and led the Black Knights with two steals in 24 minutes of action.

Barker added eight points, three rebounds and a steal in 16 minutes in Friday’s 70-64 loss at Harvard.

Army (2-8) will host Stony Brook on Sunday.

Schiavello helps Wheaton to win

Nick Schiavello scored 14 points and led Wheaton with eight rebounds and a blocked shot in 34 minutes Wednesday in a 69-62 CCIW win at Carroll (Wisconsin).

Schiavello, a senior from Columbus North, added 10 points and two assists and led the Thunder with seven rebounds and two steals in 24 minutes in Saturday’s 77-54 loss at Calvin (Michigan). Ty Ferguson, a freshman from North, had an assist and a steal in three minutes of action.

Wheaton (2-7, 1-2) will visit University of Chicago on Saturday.

Murphy hepls lead Olivet to victory

BOURBANNIS, Ill. — Daniel Murphy recorded 13 points, five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot and led Olivet Nazarene with seven assists in 24 minutes Thursday in a 125-43 win against Moody Bible Institute.

Murphy, a junior from Columbus East, added four points, five rebounds and three assists in 18 minutes in Saturday’s 81-78 CCAC loss to Roosevelt (Illinois).

Olivet (8-2, 3-1) will play in the Big Island Classic in Hilo, Hawaii, Dec. 18-19.

Horn helps DePauw to pair of wins

GREENCASTLE — Cooper Horn had 10 points and four rebounds and led DePauw with three steals in 27 minutes of action Wednesday in a 73-60 North Coast Athletic Conference win against Wittenberg.

Horn, a freshman from Columbus North, added two points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 17 minutes in Saturday’s 60-58 NCAC win against Wooster.

DePauw (5-4, 2-2) will visit Franklin on Saturday.

Barker, Johns square off

FRANKLIN — Lauren Barker recorded seven points, two rebounds and an assist and led Franklin with two steals in 22 minutes Saturday’s 101-62 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win against Earlham.

Gabby Johns, a sophomore from Hauser, had two points and one rebound in 10 minutes for Earlham.

Franklin (5-2, 2-1) will visit Manchester on Saturday. Earlham (5-2, 2-1) hosts Kuyper College on Saturday.

White helps Pomeroys to victory

WEST TERRE HAUTE — Madison White, a junior from Columbus North, scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in 19 minutes Tuesday to help Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to a 79-56 River States Conference win against IU Southeast.
