Alex Lozano // Columbus North senior wrestler

Lozano went 5-0 at 285 pounds on Saturday to help lead the Bull Dogs to the team title at the Columbus North Duals.

His performance last week: “I was really glad with my performance, and I’m excited for the upcoming tournaments and duals we have.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just try to drill as hard as I can during practice and get better every day.”

Favorite drink: “Orange Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Chicken Fettucine Alfredo”

Favorite class: “Accounting”

Favorite sports team: “I really like the (Los Angeles) Dodgers.”

Favorite athlete: “Cristiano Ronaldo”

Best advice: “To be grateful for everything you have.”

Athletics goal: “To always strive to be better than you were the day before.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I want to go to Paris. I want to see the Eiffel Tower and go to Europe.”

Emma Murray

Murray led the Crusaders with 17 points in a 62-42 loss to Martinsville Tabernacle, 19 in a 48-47 win against Christian Academy of Madison and 15 in a 42-37 loss to Medora and scored 10 in a 41-33 win over Cannelton.

Her performance last week: “Everyone can always work on something, and I definitely found my faults. I really worked hard on making sure I was communicating with my team and playing my best.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I always make sure to pray and make sure I’m mentally prepared.”

Favorite class: “Bible class”

Favorite sports team: “Iowa women’s basketball”

Role model: “My dad (Dustyn Murray)”

Best advice: “A lot of people always focus on whether you win or lose. I think it’s important to always focus on, ‘I tried my best.’’’

Athletics goal: “To reach 1,000 points next year.”
