Student-made gingerbread houses, decorations by local interior designers and a visit by Santa Claus drew hundreds of visitors to The Inn at Irwin Gardens, raising money for literacy.

1998

The new Interstate 65 exit to County Line Road offered roughly the same time and mileage to Greenwood shopping, but was praised by planners and motorists for easing traffic tie-ups.

1973

Elizabethtown resident Jim Eudy parked his rig at the Standard Truck Plaza on Road 31 north of Columbus and organized Bartholomew County truck drivers in a blockade of truck stop fuel pumps. The blockade was planned to last “until the federal government sits up and listens.”
