COLUMBUS
Michael Thomas Steele, 45, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2023.
Michael was employed by Cummins at CEP. He loved art, painting and drawing. He also loved being outdoors, especially magnet fishing with his children.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Edna Steele; and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marion Gunning.
Survivors include his loving parents, Randall and Peggy Steele of Columbus; sister, Kendra Steele of Columbus; children, Ayla and Oren Steele, both of Columbus; and former spouse, Nicole Steele of Columbus. Also surviving are his uncles, Stephen Steele of Pocatello, ID, and Kenneth Gunning of Daytona, FL; and aunt, Carol (Philip) Oakes of Middleton, ID.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Rev. Al White officiating.
Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials in Michael’s name are suggested to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
