(Monika Herzig)

* To say that noted jazz pianist Monika Herzig has performed a variety of shows in and around Columbus for some 20 years or more is a grand understatement. Heck, in 2003, she was part of a musical education puppet show for youngsters, such is her creative bent. On Jan. 19-20, she and vocalist Alexis Cole and a full band will perform “Both Sides of Joni” in a Joni Mitchell salute-style show with fresh arrangements of familiar tunes. You might want to grab tickets soon for these performances at Jazz at Helen’s at Helen Haddad Hall, 315 Franklin St. in Columbus. The last jazz show there sold out. Information: thecip.org.
