Luke Revell
Columbus North senior Luke Revell has committed to continue his football career at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Revell was an offensive lineman for the Bull Dogs this season after playing primarily on the defensive line as a sophomore and junior. He was a co-captain.
North-Heritage swim meet canceled
The Columbus North swimming meet with Hertiage Christian that was scheduled for today has been canceled and will not be made up.
Crusaders hosting SRC tournament
Columbus Christian will host the Southern Roads Conference boys basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday.
There are three first-round games on Friday, but the Crusaders received a first-round bye and will play in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m. Saturday against the winner of Friday’s Medora-Cannelton game.
The third-place game is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the championship will follow at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Conference meets set for Saturday
Two wrestling conference meets and a girls swimming meet involving local teams will take place on Saturday.
In wrestling, Columbus East and Jennings County will travel to Seymour for the Hoosier Hills Conference championship at 9 a.m., and Columbus North will travel to Southport at 9 a.m. for the Conference Indiana meet.
In girls swimming, East and Jennings will travel to New Albany for the HHC meet at 9 a.m. The HHC boys swimming meet won’t be contested until Jan. 27.
North, Hauser add JV girls game
Columbus North and Hauser have added a JV girls basketball game for noon Saturday at Hauser.
The Jets varsity still will host Clarksville at around 1:30 p.m. Clarksville does not have a JV team.
North boys hoops games rescheduled
The Columbus North boys basketball game at Terre Haute South that was scheduled for Dec. 20 has been postponed to Feb. 24. The JV will begin at 6 p.m., with the varsity to follow at around 7:30 p.m.
Also, the Jennings County at Columbus North boys basketball game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 5 has been moved to Tuesday. The JV game will start at 6 p.m., with the varsity game to follow at around 7:30 p.m.
Girls sectional pairings coming up
The girls basketball sectional is less than a month away. Teams will know the path to the sectional crowns when the pairings show takes place beginning at 5 p.m. Jan. 21.
The pairings show will be available livestream at ihsaatv.org.
Whiteland will host a Class 4A sectional that includes Columbus North and Columbus East. North Decatur will host a Class 2A sectional that includes Hauser. The games will be held Jan. 30-Feb.3.
