Clark County man files for run for Congress; more join town council races

A Clark County man has filed to run for the Democratic nomination for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District, according to the Indiana Election Division.

Timothy Peck of New Washington on Monday filed to run for the seat, which includes parts of southern Bartholomew County, as well as Brown, Jackson, Jennings, Decatur, Monroe, Lawrence, as well as much of southeastern portion of the state, including Cincinnati’s Indiana suburbs.

The seat is currently held by Rep. Erin Houchin, R-Ind., who had not yet filed for reelection as of the end of the day Monday, according to the most recent information available from the Indiana Election Division.

Additionally, two additional people have filed to run for Hope Town Council, according to the Bartholomew County Clerk’s Office.

Ohmer Miller has filed to run for the Republican nomination for Hope Town Council Ward 3, and Edward Johnson filed for the Democratic nomination for Hope Town Council Ward 1.

Candidate filing runs until Feb. 9, according to the Indiana Election Division.
