Justice Thornton // Columbus North junior wrestler

Thornton went 3-1 to finish second in the 138-pound weight class at the Evansville Semistate.

His performance last week: “I went out there and tried my hardest and did what I thought I could do.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I stay calm, and I stay in my own head and think about what I need to do and how to do it.”

Favorite drink: “Chocolate milk”

Favorite food: “Lasagna”

Favorite class: “Construction”

Favorite sports team: “Ohio State”

Favorite athlete: “My little sister (Greensburg basketball player Jaylin Thornton)”

Role model: “My mom and dad (Jennifer Brogan and John Thornton)”

Best advice: “If you want to be the best, you have to train to be the best.”

Athletics goal: “To make everybody else better in the wrestling room.”

Marley Warren // Trinity Lutheran freshman basketball player

Marley Warren

Warren led the Cougars with 22 points Saturday in a 62-49 loss to Wood Memorial in the West Washington Regional.

Her performance last week: “I feel like I stepped up when we needed to score and get some baskets. In the end, it ended up not being enough, but I’m really proud of the team effort that we game.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Before games, I get lots of shots up and make sure I eat well and listen to music.”

Favorite drink: “Dr. Pepper”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite class: “History”

Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”

Favorite athlete: “Steph Curry”

Role model: “My mom (Julie Warren)”

Best advice: “Always work hard for what you want because nothing is ever given to you.’’

Athletics goal: “I want to be able to win a state championship in basketball.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii. I’ve always wanted to go to the beaches in Hawaii.”
