MADISON — Trinity Lutheran won its first baseball sectional title since 2019 with an 8-2 win against Shawe Memorial in Monday’s Shawe Sectional final.
The game was tied 2-2 before the Cougars scored six times in the bottom of the fifth.
Jackson Trueblood threw a five-hitter and struck out 11 for Trinity. Bode Brooks went 3 for 3 with two doubles, and Chase Bode went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
The Cougars (15-11) will play South Central in the regional on Saturday at a time and location to be determined.
