Lt. Jim Miller retires from CFD

After 27 years with the Columbus Fire Department, Lt. Jim Miller has retired, the CFD announced in a press release.

Miller joined the department in 1997 and since then volunteered with the Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund, spent time in a chairman position on the Cheer Fund board, served as a union officer with the Columbus Professional Firefighter’s Local 2190 and was a member of the Columbus Fire Department Color Guard.

“The Columbus Fire Department expresses our deep gratitude to Lieutenant Miller for his faithful years of service to the department and the community,” the release said.

Miller officially retired on June 17 from Fire Station 5, Battalion B.
