COLUMBUS
Kevin Lynn Hilycord-Conejo, 57, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at his home. Kevin was born on June 2, 1967 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the son of David and Beverly Hilycord.
After graduating from Columbus North High School in 1985, Kevin attended Butler University. He worked as a pharmacy technician at Target for 25 years before retiring. He married Antonio Achong-Conejo in Columbus, Indiana.
He was a long-time member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, cheering for any Indiana sports team, Greek mythology, and science fiction. He was an avid marvel comics fan, and an advocate for civil rights. He enjoyed having long conversations and often joked that he had the “gift of gab”. He was selfless when it came to those he loved and was a caregiver when the people closest to him were in need.
Kevin is survived by his brother, Duane Hilycord; and nieces, Diana (Joshua) Imlay, and Melissa Stam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his partner, Antonio Achong-Conejo.
A graveside service for Kevin will be held Monday, June 24 at 11 a.m. at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the American Kidney Foundation.
