2014
Southside Elementary School student Kila Seaver made a petition and posters about texting and driving to increase awareness about the dangers of the practice. Seaver hung the posters around the school and acquired about 20 signatures from students and teachers.
1999
Several Columbus residents, including coordinator Bob Fox, participated in the Air Show ’99, where about 20 area model airplane enthusiasts gathered to show off everything from homemade airplanes to replicas of Word War I crafts. The show, sponsored by the Johnson County R/C Flyers, was held at Tracee Field in Johnson County Park.
1974
The Donner Swim Team finished second with 656 points against 22 other teams at the Columbus Early Bird Meet. Club Olympia of Fort Wayne won the champion title with 730.5 points.
