COLUMBUS
Beverley A. Roop, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital, at the age of 75.
Beverley was born in New Castle, Indiana, October 22, 1948, the loving daughter of Floyd Edward Lamberson Sr. and Bettina Elaine Sadler Lamberson.
For 45 years, Beverley was employed at Cummins Engine Company. She had a huge passion for frogs; you could find many collectible frog figurines throughout her home. Beverley will be remembered for always taking care of her family. She loved to cook for her family and have guests over to her home so she could share her delicious meals. She cherished the times she spent with her grandkids and she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and playing Scrabble.
Beverley will be remembered by her children, Melissa Masters of Columbus, Rob Roop of Columbus and Heather Roop of Columbus; grandchildren, Blake (Ashley) Masters, Chance Masters (Marica) Shelby Lawrence, Madison Roop, Triston (Felicity) David, Quenton David and Hunter Mellinger; great-grandchildren, Layla, Chloe, Kaleb and Lucy Masters; siblings, Carolyn (Johnny) Gore of Flat Rock, Judith Rickard of Columbus and Floyd (Bonnie) Lamberson Jr. of Butler, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Andrew Masters; brother, Maurice Lamberson; and her fiance, Paul Edward Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 4449 South Smithland Road, Shelbyville, Indiana; Pastor Bryan Trotter will officiate.
Inurnment will take place following the service at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
