Over the summer, the Prevention Team will collaborate with youth in the community through team-building activities, trauma-informed art projects, and peer-to-peer support initiatives. TEEN DATE NIGHT: TIE DYE & KARAOKE, 6 to 8 p.m., June 28, The Landmark, 729 Washington St., Columbus. Turning Point and Indiana Youth Group are joining forces for a free night of colors, music, and fun. Grab a partner or your besties and create your own personal tie-dye creation and sing all of your favorite songs. All materials will be provided. Be sure to sign up ahead of time. Sports, exercise, wellness

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., Saturdays through Oct. 12, Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. A noncompetitive environment in which children ages 4-10 can learn the basic skills of hockey. $5 Drop-in. Arrive 30 minutes early to get fitted for equipment. SUMMER SKATING AND HOCKEY CLASSES, through Aug. 1, Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. Classes include Snowplow 1 and 2, Basic 1-6, Novice Club, Speed Skating, Adults Class, Hockey Beginner, and Hockey Advanced. Classes will take place on the studio (small) ice. OLD FASHION INDEPENDENCE DAY, 5:30 to 10 p.m., June 28, Hope Town Square, Hope. Hosted by the Yellow Trail Museum. Fireworks at Dusk. Little Mr. & Miss Firecracker ages 3-10. Bike, trike, or stroller parade for kids under 12. Crafts, games, contests, balloon man, face painting, and pony rides. Yellow Trail open all evening with ice cream floats for $1.00. Come show off your apple pie skills at the old-fashioned 4th celebration in the town square. Judges will be there to admire your work, taste your creations, and give their expert opinion on who has the best apple pie in town.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON BUILDS: TOOLBOX, 2 to 6 p.m., June 29, Columbus Propeller, 4760 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus. Step into Propeller’s vibrant maker community for this fun filled, family-friendly activity where you will be crafting personalized toolboxes. The Bartholomew County Genealogical Society would like to recognize the Yellow Trail Museum’s 50th Anniversary in 2025 with the First Families in the Hawcreek/Flatrock area. Through August 2025, bring photos, genealogy, documents, stories or anything else you might want to share. With your permission, the genealogical society will scan copies. These digital copies will be available for all attendees (bring your own jump drive), as well as the Yellow Trail Research Center.

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Admission is free, with a donation suggested. GALLERY 506, Columbus Indiana Visitors Center, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dutch photographer Iwan Baan’s architecturally focused work documenting Columbus’ many notable Modernist structures will be featured through August.

ATTERBURY-BAKALAR AIR MUSEUM, at Columbus Municipal Airport, 4742 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. BROWN COUNTY ART GUILD, 48 S. Van Buren St., Nashville. Selected by the Board of Indiana Heritage Arts, the Hoosier Masters Collection is a dynamic exhibit that showcases the distinguished skills of more than a dozen Hoosier artists. With a variety of subjects, this exhibition features work from some of Indiana’s finest heritage-style impressionist artists, through June 30. Guild Artist Exhibition and Sale is all-new artwork and a refurbished gallery space. The guild is celebrating a milestone birthday this year — 70 years of continuous operation in the same location — with the Jubilee Collection I and special exhibition and sale through July 12.
