Larry Lee Joslin

COLUMBUS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Lee Joslin, a beloved teacher, and dedicated business owner, who left us peacefully on June 20, 2024 at the age of 85.

Larry was born on October 21, 1938 in Columbus, where he grew up with a passion for learning. This led him to become an educator, teaching sixth grade at Wayne Township and woodworking at Brown County High School. In addition to his career in education, Larry was also a successful business owner. He founded Joslin’s Custom Wood Products, a venture that reflected his love of woodworking.

Additionally, he had a love of music and airplanes. Larry was the piano player for the Bethel Ambassadors for 26 years and was famous for always wearing his red socks. More recently, he restored a Dragonfly aircraft with his best friends, Bob Robbins and John Wietlisback.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Cecilia E. Joslin; children, Mark (Mary) Joslin and Sherri (Randy) Duckworth, all of Columbus, and J.R. (Hazel) Joslin of North Vernon; grandchildren, Alex (Allison Moffitt) Joslin, Aiden Joslin, Ava Joslin, Sarah Shaw and Ben Joslin; and great-grandchildren, Anthony and Keller DeSpain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Joslin and Florence Joslin Timbrook; son, Aaron Joslin; grandson, Timothy Duckworth; and daughter-in-law, Benjie Joslin.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, services will be private.

Memorials should be directed to Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.
