Solid Waste Management District Board — 9 a.m., Governmental Office Building, 440 Third St., Columbus.
Library Babies — 10 to 10:30, 10:35 to 11, and 11:05 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This relaxed program is a baby-friendly introduction to storytime. Library Babies is geared toward children birth to 18 months and their caregivers. To register, call the children’s desk at 812-379-1288.
Whalemobile — 10 to 10:30, 10:30 to 11, 11 to 11:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to noon, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Kids ages 5 and older will have fun while we learn about whales and ocean conservation. Caregivers are not required to go into the whale with children, but if they would like to, they must be registered, as space is limited.
Rockin’ Storytime with Mr. Dave — 10 to 10:30 a.m., Hope Branch Library, 635 Harrison St., Hope. Enjoy a special storytime with Mr. Dave at the Hope Town Square bandstand every Thursday this summer.
USDA Summer Food Service Program — Noon to 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Food must be eaten on site and folks are not permitted to leave with the meals. Meals are free for children 18 years of age and under. Adults over the age of 18 may purchase a meal for $4.70.
Teen Thursgame — 1 to 4 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Every Thursday after school, play games including Dungeon Party, Unstable Unicorns, Wizard Kittens, Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, Here to Slay and more.
Substance Abuse Public Funding Board — 2 p.m., Columbus City Hall, Council Chambers, 123 Washington St., Columbus.
Journey — 2 to 4 p.m., The Landmark, 729 Washington St., Columbus. Turning Point’s peer-to-peer support system created to guide teens through some of the difficulties of life. Free and open to all local youth. Once-per-week attendance is encouraged. Information at https://www.turningpointdv.org/teens.
Tween Game Time — 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Stop by after school and join us for some laid-back fun as we play our way through our collection of board, card, and dice games. Game selection may vary.
Family Exercise and Movement — 4:45 to 5:15 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Children ages 4 to 10 and their friends and family members are welcome to join in and have fun at this kid-friendly exercise and wellness program with guest Ruth Bayardo. Participants will get up and moving, as well as learn about exercise and other wellness topics. Dress comfortably for movement.
Sugar and Spice Romance Book Club — 6 to 7 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join a group of romance readers to discuss your latest read. All genres of romance are appreciated.
