Sen. Greg Walker, R-Columbus, has been named vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Child Services. Walker represents Senate District 41, including parts of Bartholomew and Johnson counties.
In addition to the new appointment, Walker is also a member of the Interim Study Committee on Pensions Management Oversight and the Native American Indian Affairs Commission.
“These committees provide the time for legislators to take a closer look at reports and review public policy issues that require further discussion or research,” Walker said.
Meetings take place over the summer and fall, and they will discuss approved topics as designated by the Legislative Council, a bipartisan entity that is composed of eight voting members from the Senate, and eight voting members from the House of Representatives.
