Prep sports notebook: Locals named All-State, Academic All-State

Stryker Gill

Hauser sophomore catcher Stryker Gill and South Decatur senior pitcher Devin Pate have been selected to the Class 2A and Class A All-State Teams, respectively, by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Columbus East’s Blake Borkhardt is an honorable mention pick in Class 4A.

Locals named All-State, Academic All-State

Columbus North senior Kathryn Wilson, who won the state singles title for the second consecutive year, has been named First-Team All-State Singles by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.

North junior Aya Saad was selected Second-Team All-State Singles.

Jennings County’s Tatum Brown was named Academic All-State by the ICGSA.

Revell to play in North-South game

Columbus North’s Luke Revell will play in the Indiana Football Coaches Association North-South All-Star Game at 7 p.m. July 12 at Decatur Central.

Revell, an offensive lineman, will play for the South team. North’s Paige Hatter will be one of the managers for the South squad.

North students free admission to games next year

Columbus North athletics announced that its students will be admitted free to all home athletic events for the 2024-25 school year.

Students will need to show their North ID badge and lanyard for free admission. It will not be accepted for IHSAA-sanctioned postseason events or any games against Columbus East that are hosted by the Olympians.

All-Sports Passes will remain the same price as recent years, with family passes at $225 and single adults passes being $90. Individual game tickets will be $7.

All-Sports Passes will be available for purchase beginning at the annual Blue and White event on Aug. 10.
