Severe weather possible Wednesday and Thursday accompanied by high temps

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The National Weather Services is predicting chances for severe weather, along with returning heat for Wednesday and Thursday.  Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected Wednesday afternoon through Friday.

Bartholomew County Emergency Management says there is a slight risk for severe weather on Wednesday with thunderstorms in the forecast for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

There is also a potential heat risk on Wednesday with temperatures over southern Indiana expected to exceed 90 degrees with humidity in the low to mid-70s.

Heat Index Values of 100-105 are possible.

There is a marginal risk for severe weather on Thursday with general thunderstorm activity Thursday morning, with storms redeveloping Thursday night.

Damaging winds of 60 mph or higher are possible with small hail and a low risk of flooding.
