Eric Lee Erickson Jr., 55, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Eric was born in Princeton, New Jersey, October 2, 1968, the son of Reverends Eric Lee Erickson Sr. and Norie Newell Erickson.
Eric was a member of the 1989 graduating class of Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. While in high school, Eric was the top runner of the cross country team and he was a member of the band. Eric later graduated as an English major from the University of Pittsburgh. Later in life, Eric became a marathon runner with his father.
Eric worked in food service for many years, most recently at Applebee’s in Columbus and working in the deli at the westside Walmart.
Eric was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. An avid music enthusiast, Eric was a fan of the Grateful Dead and he enjoyed going to Phish concerts with his brother John. Eric was a people person, he reached out to people wherever he went giving him many friends to love and enjoy.
Surviving to cherish his life are his parents, Reverend Eric Erickson and Reverend Norie Erickson of Columbus; sister, Lori (David) Elton of Los Alamos, New Mexico; brothers, Reverend John Erickson of Martinsville and Michael Alan Erickson of Indianapolis; niece, Katherine Elton of Bloomington; nephew, Nick (Allie Porter) Erickson of Denver, Colorado; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. July 17, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church; Reverend Richard Safford and Reverend Dr. Felipe Martinez will officiate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
