Bartholomew County

Library Babies — 10 to 10:30, 10:35 to 11, and 11:05 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This relaxed program is a baby-friendly introduction to storytime. Library Babies is geared toward children birth to 18 months and their caregivers. To register, call the children’s desk at 812-379-1288.

Rockin’ Storytime with Mr. Dave — 10 to 10:30 a.m., Hope Branch Library, 635 Harrison St., Hope. Enjoy a special storytime with Mr. Dave at the Hope Town Square bandstand every Thursday this summer.

Preschool Dance Class — 10 to 10:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Children ages 2 to 5 are invited to dance with local dance teacher, Megan. Caregivers will stay in the room with their dancers. Registration is requested.

Back to School Supply Bash — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Keepsake Village of Columbus, 2564 Foxpointe Dr., Columbus. Free school supplies for the first 225 kids. Bouncy house, water slide, basketball hoop, and refreshments.

Columbus Utilities Service Board — 11:30 a.m., Columbus City Utilities, 1111 McClure Road, Columbus.

USDA Summer Food Service Program — Noon to 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Food must be eaten on site and folks are not permitted to leave with the meals. Meals are free for children 18 years of age and under. Adults over the age of 18 may purchase a meal for $4.70.

Teen Thursgame — 1 to 4 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Every Thursday after school, play games including Dungeon Party, Unstable Unicorns, Wizard Kittens, Disney Sorcerer’s Arena, Here to Slay and more.

American Red Cross Blood Drive — 1 to 6 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Donate and Save Lives.

Journey — 2 to 4 p.m., The Landmark, 729 Washington St., Columbus. Turning Point is excited to offer an interactive, peer-to-peer support system created to guide teens through some of the difficulties of life. Free and open to all local youth. Candle Dipping — 4 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Learn a historic craft that’s all new to you. Join Corey from the Bartholomew County Historical Society to help us to make our own hand dipped candles using historical techniques.

Transformers — 6 to 7 p.m., St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 719 Fifth St., Columbus. This group welcomes children and families who are grieving a loss. GreenTimber — 6 to 7:30 p.m., Hope Branch Library, 635 Harrison St., Hope. GreenTimbre a local husband-and-wife duo that plays acoustic tunes from multiple eras and genres and originals about life in the Midwest. Bring your lawn chair, your supper, and an appropriate beverage for an evening of music on the square.
