Music with Valerie — 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join music therapist, Valerie Jones, as she guides the group through well-known songs with gentle movement and participation. Registration is recommended.

USDA Summer Food Service Program — Noon to 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Food must be eaten on site and folks are not permitted to leave with the meals. Meals are free for children 18 years of age and under. Adults over the age of 18 may purchase a meal for $4.70.

kidscommons — 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Kids in grades 4-6 will see if they have what it takes to crack the case. They will study fingerprints and other evidence to identify the culprit. They will need to use science to catch the person who is responsible for taking the giant toilet slide handle!

Notary available at Hope Library — 2 to 3 p.m., Hope Branch Library, 635 Harrison St., Hope. Come to Hope Branch Library on Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m. to get items notarized by staff member notary Jennifer Pardue. Please bring photo ID. This is a Hope walk-in hour with no appointment required.

Mulch and Compost Loading — 2 to 4:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District Yard Waste Site, 720 S. Mapleton St., Columbus. Bartholomew County residents are welcome to self-load mulch and/or compost from our Yard Waste Site free of charge. $10 per pick-up truck size load of mulch or compost. Family Scavenger Hunt — 6:30 to 8 p.m., The Landmark, 729 Washington St., Columbus. Turning Point’s Prevention Team is hosting a free Family Scavenger Hunt to spend your evening together walking or biking through downtown Columbus to find clues and complete activities as a way to build healthy relationships and foster positive experiences as a family. Turning Point will provide hotdogs, snow cones, and prizes for participating families. Registration at https://www.turningpointdv.org/events/fgn is required to participate.

WFIU Presents Jazz in July –– 7 to 8 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join us for a Jazz in July concert featuring the Al Cobine Big Band. This free outdoor performance will take place on the plaza. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to The Commons. The concert will be emceed by WFIU host David Brent Johnson. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, or even a picnic! Food trucks will also be available during the event.
