NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Jennings County Sheriff deputies are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 West at County Road 700W that claimed the life of a Hayden man.
Sgt. Drew Heilers said at about 2:06 p.m., a 2015 Toyota van driven by Jerry L. Bridges, 82, Hayden, pulled off of County Road 700W and into the travel portion of Highway 50 where his vehicle was struck by a concrete truck driven by Travis Carroll of Lovett.
As a result, Bridges was transported to Schneck Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Highway 50 West was closed for about two hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
