Veteran families can get back-to-school aid

Families of military veterans who are experiencing financial hardship can get aid for children heading back to school through the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs’ Military Family Relief Fund.

Through Operation Back to School, qualifying veterans can apply through Aug. 30 for $500 in back-to-school expenses per dependent child residing with the veteran. Children must be in kindergarten through grade 12 or be a full-time college student up to age 23.

Veterans can learn more or apply for assistance, with required documentation, at in.gov/dva/about-idva/links/military-family-relief-fund/.
