2014

U.S. Army North units at Camp Atterbury participated in the annual Vibrant Response emergency preparedness drill. More than 5,500 military and civilian personnel took part in the drill, which helped soldiers practice for how they would help in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

1999

Pam Clark, executive director of Foundation for Youth, became the new director of the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center. Clark replaced Chuck Seidelman, who became the superintendent of Paducah Regional Detention Center in Kentucky.

1974

The Columbus American Legion baseball team defeated visiting Cambridge City 3-1 in the second game of a double-header. The win was the first of the season for Columbus, which had 45 straight losses.
