The Columbus Redevelopment Commission approved a contract with former Columbus resident Danielle McClelland to put together a five-year business plan for the historic Crump Theatre. McClelland was the former program director for the Columbus Area Arts Council and the director of Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington.

1999

A memorial tree-planting ceremony took place at the Edinburgh Sports Complex, with about 20 Edinburgh citizens and staff from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in attendance. The tree planting commemorated the highest percentage of customers in the state who agreed to be organ donors when getting or renewing their driver’s license at the Edinburgh BMV branch.

1974

More than $29,000 was collected for the Indiana Division of the American Cancer Society by the Bartholomew County unit, exceeding its goal of $27,000. The effort was lead by W. Calvert Brand and Wilber Routh of Columbus.
